The Story, Somewhat

Hello, I’m Khwaish Gupta. I’ve always felt that we are not just inhabitants of Earth—we are part of her breathing, living, healing cycles. My journey has meandered from the metros to the mountains, fueled by curiosity and a taste for stories that can change us.

My roots are in city life, but my calling drew me to the mountains, where I discovered how nature and community inspire lasting impact. I find solace in walking on wet grass, in breathing mindfully under banyan trees, and in conversations about climate and kindness. For me, nature isn’t just a backdrop; it’s a necessity, a healer, and a teacher.

Working with Waste Warriors in the Himalayas of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh deeply changed me; co-leading the Largest Mountain Cleanup with ~8500 volunteers, I saw firsthand how messy, deeply human action can become a quiet offering to the planet. Community action starts small, is often chaotic, but when it’s honest, it sticks.

Early on, I curated stories at 101Reporters, amplifying rural voices and learning that change is as much about listening as it is about doing. Along the way, climate learnings like Terra.Do reminded me: we aren’t built to “fix” the world alone. We need each other—for courage, for laughter, sometimes just to pause and breathe.

If you’re seeking a softer, braver, greener way to live and lead, welcome to my patch of Earth.

“a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one."
