Social Service League

Social Service League of St. Xavier's College brings together socially sensitive students and unites them in action to bring about positive changes in the society and themselves. From organising bi-annual blood drives and fundraising workshops to visiting child care centres and villages, SSL does it all.

As the Outreach Secretary and then an Executive Committee member, my work was to make SSL a more welcoming, and well-known place. This involved managing their social media channels, offline outreach, experiment with different events and ways of engagement.

I co-launched Prism in 2020, an initiative to make the campus gender-inclusive by primarily spreading awareness to reduce forms of student microaggressions against gender minorities.

In 2021-22 (Treasurer, Executive Committee) I curated and executed a series of workshops on Mental Health (different themes like self-care) in collaboration with the PG Diploma Expressive Arts faculty and students. I also led the creation of a free-to-use-for-students pdf of mental health resources (like therapists, counsellors). Going forward, we organised a blood donation drive (right after omicron subsided) and it was a massive success!
