Community Building and Event Curation

I work with Rukhmabai Initiatives, aimed at supporting Indian women in STEM, to build a community of women in STEM and further more inclusion in the field. We commission profiles of women in STEM to increase accurate representation, hoping for them to have a domino effect to positively impact participation of young girls. Efforts include working across social media platforms and other available touchpoints like newsletters and roundtables.

Most of my experience in community management comes from being a part of the Social Service League at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. It was so much more than being just another student club— bringing together like minded individuals for creating actual impact (both, internal and external). I worked as a project secretary for their Outreach department in my second year of college and as a core Executive Committee member in my final year. It was in the latter that I got the opportunity to build more targetted communities and engage with them. For example, we launched the Sustain Squad for environment enthusiasts.
